Nelson Omagor

Managing Associate

Mr. Omagor has twenty (20) years experience in Environment and Social Impact
Assessments (ESIAs), Environmental and Social Management Frameworks (ESMFs)
and Natural Resource Management all gained through involvement in university
teaching, consultancy and experience in the public sector. He has also experience
in policies, legal and institutional framework at local, national, regional and
international levels relating to environment. Mr. Omagor has worked with a number
of consulting firms, donor and conservation agencies in the fields’ environment and
natural resources management.

Jamil M. Kusiima

Director – Projects & Technical Services

Mr. Kusiima is a Short Term Consultant at the World Bank (Uganda Office)and supports
the Bank’s Safeguards Unit with Supervision, Appraisal and Review Missions on the
Bank’s financed projects with particular focus on environmental, health and safety safeguards.
His work also includes review of project documents relating to safeguards compliance such as
ESMFs, ESIA, ESMPs and Audits among others and providing comments/guidance to the Bank’s
clients.

Moses Basoma

Projects Manager

Mr. Basoma has over fifteen years’ experience in Environment and Natural Resource
Management studies and management. He has managed a range of assignments. He
is familiar with the safeguards requirements of the major International Financing
Institutions (IFIs) such as the World Bank Group, China Exim Bank, JICA and USAID.His
vast experience includes mainly conducting screening and scoping exercises, baseline
studies, impact assessments, monitoring, auditing and management planning and
implementation. He has also wide experience on environment and natural resources
policies, legal and institutional mandates in Uganda. He is currently the Engineer’s
Environment Specialist for the Kampala-Entebbe Express Highway project.

Vivian .M. Chambo

Technical Manager

Vivian holds a BSc in Environmental Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Integrated Water
Resources Management from the University of Dar es Salaam, with over seven years of
experience in Environmental and Water Projects. Vivian has worked in Tanzania, United
Kingdom and Uganda. She has conducted assessments for a number of projects
including the ESIA as part of the feasibility for the Nyimur Multipurpose Water Resources
project by NELSAP, ESIA for the Nyamba B Hydropower project in Uganda, ESIAs for
the Geita Gold Mine, Buzwagi Gold Mine, African Barrick Gold, Williamson Diamonds
Mine, all in Tanzania.

Violet Namakula

Team Leader – Water Quality Specialist

Violet Namakula holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Chemistry from Makerere University
and a joint MSc. in Limnology and Wetland Ecosystem from the UNESCO-IHE Institute for
Water Education, Egerton University and BOKU University. She has also trained in Integrated Water
Resources Management (IWRM) and Tropical Limnology including Wetland delineation and
assessment. Violet has over 10 years work experience in water related projects gained through
research and work in the water sector. She has vast knowledge and experience in water
treatment and water quality testing and monitoring, research in wastewater treatment as well
as monitoring of tropical natural water bodies.

Gaudesia Apolot

Environment and Natural Resources Specialist

Ms. Gaudesia Apolot holds a Bachelors’ Degreen Fisheries and Aquaculture and an Msc. Degree
in Environment Natural Resources both from Makerere University. Gaudesia has over five
(5) years of experience in environment and natural resources specifically in baseline
assessments and data collection for Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental
Audits, compiling, analyzing data,and writing reports for Environmental Impact Assessments
and Audits.

Richard Atugonza

Environmental Audits/QMS Coordinator

Richard holds an MSc in Environmental Science & Natural Resources and a Bachelor’s
Degree in Environmental Management both from Makerere University. His training
includes a certificate as a Lead Auditor / Assessor for QMS ISO Standards,
Environmental and Climate Change, GIS application, Oil & Gas, Public Health,
Participatory Rural Appraisal and Community Action Planning, and First Aid.
During his career, he has provided expertize in environmental assessments for the
private sector, Government of Uganda as well as those supported by the IFC/World Bank.

Olivia Namutosi

M.A. – Senior Sociologist

Miss Olivia Namutosi holds a Master’s Degree in Social Sector Planning and Management
with experience in social and environment impact Assessment, land use planning and resource
analysis, community planning and social resettlement action planning for a range of infrastructure
development projects.For seven years, Olivia has conducted social impact assessment for
several developments in both rural and urban areas.

Kenneth Muhumuza

Construction Projects Coordinator

Kenneth holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering and Management from Kyambogo University
and a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from the Uganda Management Institute.
He has over 6 years’ experience in environmental impact monitoring and management and is registered with
the Uganda Association for Impact Assessment. Prior to joining JBN, Kenneth worked as the Contractor’s
Environment Officer from 2011-2013 during the Upgrading of the Nyakahita-Kazo road Kenneth holds a Bachelor
of Engineering in Environmental Engineering and Management from Kyambogo University and a Post Graduate Diploma
in Project Planning and Management from the Uganda Management Institute. He has over 6 years’ experience
in environmental impact monitoring and management and is registered with the Uganda Association for Impact
Assessment. Prior to joining JBN, Kenneth worked as the Contractor’s Kenneth holds a Bachelor of Engineering
in Environmental Engineering and Management from Kyambogo University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Project
Planning and Management from the Uganda Management Institute.

Grace Balikoowa

Sociologist

Grace holds a Bachelors of Social Work and Social Administration from Uganda Christian University.
She is an experienced sociologist with experience and knowledge in land use planning and resource analysis,
community planning and facilitation, environmental and social impact assessment and socio-economic
data inventories. Grace has been involved in a number of environmental and social assessments for various
projects in both rural and urban areas of Uganda. She is a skilled in data collection, data entry, screening and
analysis and has experience in designing field tools for both inventory and baseline assessment work.

Francis Mugenyi

Forestry

Mr. Mugenyi holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Makerere University, Kampala–Uganda.
He has undergone training in forest ecology, plantation management and utilization at Nyabyeya
Forestry College in Masindi and has over 3 years of experience in environmental assessments
and audits. He has been a member of several ESIA Teams mainly supporting Vegetation Specialists
for ESIAs for Hydropower Projects, Agricultural Projects, petrol stations, and multi-storey buildings
projects. Mr. Mugenyi has also participated in several Environmental Audits including the 67 km
Mbarara-Kikagati Road project in Western Uganda. He provides support in vegetation and ecological studies.
