Richard holds an MSc in Environmental Science & Natural Resources and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management both from Makerere University. His training includes a certificate as a Lead Auditor / Assessor for QMS ISO Standards, Environmental and Climate Change, GIS application, Oil & Gas, Public Health, Participatory Rural Appraisal and Community Action Planning, and First Aid.
During his career, he has provided expertize in environmental assessments for the private sector, Government of Uganda as well as those supported by the IFC/World Bank. In addition, he has been involved in environmental audits and monitoring during project implementation. He has been deeply involved in a number of studies in the oil and gas sector in the Albertine Graben including environmental and social impact assessments, environmental compliance audits, environmental monitoring, GIS and remote sensing, land use mapping, and QMS Auditing Process among others.
Richard ensures that JBN’s Quality Management System (JBN-QMS) is maintained and continuously improved. He is also responsible for developing field sampling plans, safety plans, conducting of onsite field measurements, scheduling and calibration of field equipment etc. under the guidance of the Technical Manager. He periodically audits internally JBN’s QMS.
