Mr. Omagor has twenty (20) years’ experience in Environment and Social Impact
Assessments (ESIAs), Environmental and Social Management Frameworks (ESMFs) and
Natural Resource Management all gained through involvement in university teaching,
consultancy and experience in the public sector. He has also experience in policies,
legal and institutional framework at local, national, regional and international levels
relating to environment. Mr. Omagor has worked with a number of consulting firms,
donor and conservation agencies in the fields’ environment and natural resources
management. Among his consultancy engagements include work with; African
Development Bank, the World Bank, Nile Basin Initiative/NELSAP, DFID, UNDP/GEF,
UNDP/UNCTAD, IFAD, USAID, East African Community and the African Centre for
Technology Studies (ACTS) among others.
For seven years (2001-2007), Mr. Omagor was the Head of the Environmental Liaison
Unit in the Ministry of Works and Transport where he was involved in the activities of
setting up of the Environmental Liaison Unit and was responsible for mainstreaming
of cross-cutting issues (Gender, Environment, HIV/AIDS, Occupational Safety and
Health) into the Ministry’s Programmes, Plans and Activities.
As the Managing Associate, he has the challenge to build the Firm’s capacity both
in terms of identifying and recruiting top talent and also ensuring that the firm
has adequate capacity (tools, skills, and resources) to handle projects of different
magnitudes. He also approves all reports
and documents produced by the firm.
Mr. Kusiima has 11 years overall experience with 7 years consulting
working experience and expertise specifically in environmental
safeguards built through working with multilateral financial
institutions, international non-government organizations,
government agencies, and the private sector.
He is an accredited World Bank Safeguards Specialist (Tier
2) for AFR2 Region. He previously worked as a Short-Term
Consultant at the World Bank (Uganda Office) where he provided
environmental safeguards support to investment operations. Mr.
Kusiima was deeply involved in the preparation of the Bank’s
Safeguards Portfolio Review for Uganda in 2016 to assess risks in
safeguards compliance.
He has offered services to Government of Uganda, Islamic
Republic of Afghanistan, the World Bank, Contractors,
international oil companies, Government of Rwanda, consulting
firms, and private Developers.
Mr. Basoma has 15 years’ experience in Environment and Natural Resource Management studies and management. He has participated in the preparation of District Environment Profiles and States of Environment Reports for a number of districts in Uganda. Mr. Basoma’s holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology from Makerere University and a Master of Science Degree in Environment and Natural Resources from Makerere University. He is a Certified Environment Impact Assessor and Environmental Auditor by the National Environment Management Authority. Mr. Basoma has had practical involvement in EIA aspects with a number of consulting firms and lead conservation agencies on contractual and permanent basis; serving as a Focal Person and Research Assistant in the areas of Environment Impact Assessment (EIA), Audits and natural resource management and utilization studies.
