Description


GoU through the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) is implementing the Kampala Water Lake Victoria Water and Sanitation (KW-LVWATSAN) Project.  The project aimed at improving the living conditions of the residents in the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area (GKMA) through the provision of adequate and reliable water supply and sanitation services.\r\n\r\nNWSC is sourcing an additional funding is to fill a financing gap of EUR 45 to implement WATSAN 3 in the GKMA. The funder (AFD) hired JBN to conduct an E&S due diligence on WATSAN 3 in accordance with WB ESS framework. This aimed at updating ESIA and C-ESMP for WATSAN P5B - “Pro-Poor sanitation and water supply in informal settlements”. This includes Sub-component A (Nalukolongo Fecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP)); Sub-component B (water supply and sanitation (including public/community sanitation facilities)); Sub-component C (Faecal Sludge Discharge Points) and Sub-component D (implementation of simplified sewers in 2 pilot areas (condominium sewers)). The consultant will then develop several frameworks for Additional Financing which include: the Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF), Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP), Resettlement Policy Framework (RPF) and Environment and Social Commitment Plan (ESCP).\r\n\r\n
